Aquasave application in corn cultivation

Ensuring continuous moisture supply to agricultural crops during the growth period is essential for their consistent, high yield. Plants develop normally only with a constant and sufficient amount of soil moisture. Both a lack and excess of moisture in the soil limit plant productivity.

In 2023, an MNG field trial was conducted at the Сeсil agricultural company in Timișoara, Romania. The trial was carried out on corn, utilizing the Decalb hybrid. A model late sowing was conducted on June 29th, designed to test Aquasave’s effectiveness in various application concentrations under prolonged drought conditions. The product was applied concurrently with the sowing using a planter, at the depth of seed placement.

Despite enduring challenging weather conditions, with temperatures exceeding 33 degrees Celsius for 25 days straight, the results are truly remarkable.

At just 25 days old, the corn plants treated with Aquasave demonstrated:

  • Double the size of the control group
  • Eight times the weight of the control group
  • A more robust root system

This achievement sets a new record and underscores the incredible potential of Aquasave to optimize crop growth and resilience.

After one month, on August 25, 2023, we conducted control measurements under ongoing drought conditions. Astonishingly, only the plants treated with Aquasave at concentrations of 250 and 300 kg/ha survived. In contrast, those sown without Aquasave and those treated with concentrations less than 250 kg/ha perished. This observation is particularly noteworthy given the severe weather conditions in the Timișoara region in August, characterized by well below average precipitation and significantly higher daily air temperatures.

It is evident that in the 300 kg/ha concentration group the plants developed stronger roots and produced cobs, thanks to consistent access to accumulated moisture.

In just two months after planting, the corn plants in the Aquasave 300 kg/ha group reached a height of 187.5 cm, which is one-third more than the 250 kg/ha group. The individual plant weight was 50% higher. This trend highlights that a mere 20% increase in product application amount can lead to a yield increase of 50% or more.

The assessment of biological yield was conducted on October 3, 2023. By the time of assessment, plants in both remaining variants had developed cobs. In the Aquasave 250 kg/ha variant, the plants had significantly increased in height compared to the previous measurement and had formed fully developed cobs. Compared to measurements from August 25, 2023, the plants continued to grow, with a height increase of 19.3%, nearly reaching their genetic height. In the Aquasave 300 kg/ha variant, no additional plant growth was observed. Plants in both variants had developed well-formed cobs. The cobs were of the correct shape, fully developed, without visual signs of diseases, and the grains were in a waxy ripeness stage.

The Aquasave option of 300 kg/ha resulted in the highest biological yield, with an average cob weight of 350 g, showing a 25% increase compared to the Aquasave option of 250 kg/ha. This implies that applying the natural soil conditioner Aquasave at a rate of 300 kg/ha effectively preserves and utilizes soil moisture, enhancing plant growth during long dry periods. Even in conditions of minimal moisture and maize cultivation in the second half of the growing season, with limited sunlight, Aquasave ensured a full grain harvest. These findings suggest that the widespread use of Aquasave from Manaseer Natural Green in areas with water scarcity can positively impact water supply issues. It helps expand cultivation areas, enabling 2-3 harvests per year in the same field. Additionally, the product's fertilizing properties contribute to preserving and increasing soil fertility.
